Students use model to describe relevance of maths in Vedic period

KARIMNAGAR: Students of Paramita High School here performed the `Koorma chitilo yagnam' at a Maths mela to explain how priests had used Mathematics at the Vedic period.

Priests of the yore used to perform this yagam after battles to cleanse blood-related pollution in a kingdom, using aromatic plants such as sandalwood.

On Saturday, under the guidance of teacher V.L. Raghava Rao, the students displayed the tortoise-shaped working model of the yagnam. This yagnam was used to describe the squares, triangles and other boxes and the use of numbers for the chemical reaction of aromatic plants used.
