Diphtheria cases on the rise

HYDERABAD: There is a slight increase in diphtheria cases at Fever Hospital in Nallakunta and other PHCs in the twin cities.

Hospital Superintendent B.P. Prasad on Friday said that there was a 10 per cent rise in cases.

Diphtheria occurs because of the type of food people eat.

This being the marriage season, six cases are being reported each day.

One way to prevent the disease was to avoid junk food and milk products from unregulated dairy sector, Dr. Prasad added.
