Cultural programmes a big draw at flower show

VISAKHAPATNAM: Cultural programmes being organised as part of the VUDA Flower Show are providing great entertainment to visitors. Variety of performances by artistes have been receiving good response from the public. The ballets presented by the students of Vignan Vidyalayam High School, Thimmapuram and Kalaradhana Sangeetha Natya Kalasala of Gajuwaka stole the hearts of audience. Magic show of Ravishankar and mimicry by KV Siva Ramakrishna were the highlights in the cultural show. Songs presented by Ragamalika and Karvi Orchestras and comedy skits performed by members of Creative Comedy Club and Laughter’s Fun Club entertained the public.

Commissioner of GVMC V.N. Vishnu and Vice-Chairman of VUDA B. Sreedhar gave away mementoes and certificates to the children and artistes in appreciation of their presentations. S. Murali Babu, dance trainer of Vignan Vidyalayam institutions, was felicitated in recognition of his contribution in organising the non stop dance performances for 32 hours and 76 hours by the students and achieving the Guinness Record. Magician Ravishankar, mimicry artist K.V. Siva Ramakrishna and Kallu Chidambaram were also feted on the occasion. The closing day programmes are comedy skits by cine actor Kallu Chidambaram, Visakha Humour Club, Dasavataralu dance ballet and classical and tribal dances by the students of Vignan High School, Thimmapuram and orchestra by Elisetti Rammohan Rao of Vizianagaram. AU Vice-Chancellor Beela Satyanarayana will be the chief guest for the valedictory of VUDA Flower Show on Tuesday.
