Corruption at its peak: CPI (M)

NIZAMABAD: The CPI (M) Secretariat member S. Malla Reddy has called for a movement against corruption which is deep-rooted in the Congress rule in the State.

Addressing the party district plenum at Dr. Ambedkar Bhavan here on Tuesday, he said lakhs of acres were taken from people by the government only to hand over them to the rich for creating Special Economic Zones and Coastal Corridors and not for distribution to the poor and needy.

Leaders and bureaucrats in the Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy led government indulged in corruption in every scheme and therefore they were not being implemented wholeheartedly. Execution of Jalayagnam, Indiramma Housing, Employment Guarantee Programme, Rajiv Swagruha and Arogyasri were crippled due to corrupt practices, Mr. Malla Reddy said. Other party leaders were also present.
