HYDERABAD: Congress party is gearing up to hold massive rallies all over the State on Monday to highlight the farm loan waiver announced by the Centre in the recent budget.

Elaborate programmes have been chalked out by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee and the District Congress Committees in all the districts barring Kadapa. The party is planning a big rally in Kadapa to be addressed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. In the Nalgonda event, the AICC general secretary in charge of AP affairs M. Veerappa Moily will participate.

The Chief Minister Y. S.Rajasekhara Reddy will tour Prakasam and Chittoor district on Monday to participate in the farmers rallies. APCC president D. Srinivas will attend the programme in Karimangar along with Congress Working Committee member G. Venkataswamy and former PCC president M. Satyanarayana Rao.

Union Ministers -- S. Jaipal Reddy, M. M. Pallam Raju and others will address rallies in Nalgonda and Kakinada. The Chief Minister has said that the government was committed to provide agriculture loans at three per cent to the farmers in the State at any cost.

At a review meeting on the farmers rallies, Dr. Reddy lashed out at the main Opposition party for claiming that farm crisis had gripped the State.

He accused TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu of distorting facts and trying to woo the farmers with false promises.

He said an independent organisation has been entrusted the task of carrying out a survey to bring out the factual position on the agriculture front. He pointed out that this organisation would expose the bankruptcy of the main opposition party.
