Rajahmundry: Ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao, Botcha Satyanarayana and Sabita Indra Reddy have expressed confidence that the party will get two-thirds majority in the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation (RMC) elections.

Addressing two separate press conferences on Saturday, they said that developmental works taken up by the government, including allocation of funds to the RMC, would give them more number of divisions.

They said that rise in prices of essential commodities and other issues would not have any impact on voters as it was a nation-wide phenomenon.

Mr. Prasada Rao said that in 10 years the TDP could not issue ration cards to eligible people, where the Congress Government, in two and half years, issued 30 lakh cards. He brushed aside the charge that his son and brother were involved the illegal mining business. Ms. Sabita Indra Reddy said that the party would win at least 38 divisions in the RMC elections.

Mr. Satyanarayana and Ambati Rambabu said that the wind was in favour of the Congress and people would teach another lesson to the TDP.

He said that the party's image did not suffer on account of the Volkswagen issue.
