Congress makes light of ‘grand alliance’

WARANGAL: The District Congress Committee leaders made light of the alliance between the TDP, TRS and Left parties. Addressing a press conference here, DCC president G. V. Ramana Reddy said the party expected that KCR would join the TDP by bargaining for more seats.

However, the TRS owed an explanation to the people of Telangana on why the party joined the alliance in which the CPI (M) was still opposed to separate Telangana. The TRS chief singled out Mr. Naidu for the backwardness in Telangana during his regime and the CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury has stated the party was against separate Telangana. Against this backdrop, the TRS chief should justify his joining the alliance. They described the alliance as unholy as its constituents had opposed each other in the past and now joined hands to grab power.
