City-level conclave of party leaders held

GUNTUR: Ruling Congress is destroying the country without any ideology and practising politics of convenience, said Communist Party of India State Secretariat member Potturi Nageswara Rao on Tuesday.

Speaking at a city-level party leaders’ conclave organised by the CPI city unit, Mr. Nageswara Rao said none of the political parties that ruled the country had any ideology and were only cheating people for their own benefit. The Congress party had been targetting the CPI and harming it, though it had not harmed them in any way, he saidd. The meeting attended by large number of party workers and leaders was presided over by city unit secretary Jangala Ajay Kumar. Party district Secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao appealed to the party cadre to brace up for the agitations to be launched by the party demanding basic amenities for people in urban areas. People have lost confidence in the Congress Government as its policies had only led to price rise and rampant corruption at all levels, which was degrading the quality of life of the commonman. The party cadre had been taking out rallies in several wards in the city to know the problems of citizens and had also organised a maha dharna recently to highlight the drinking water and sanitation problems, he added.
