KARIMNAGAR: TRS MLC-elect from Karimnagar graduates constituency N. Laxman Rao flayed the Congress leaders for not installing the statue of former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, who bought reputation to the country with his reforms and statesmanship, in his native Karimnagar district.

Participating in the fourth death anniversary celebrations of P.V. Narasimha Rao organised by the AP Brahmana Seva Sangham at the Government Blind School in Karimnagar on Tuesday, Mr. Laxman Rao alleged that the Congress leaders were suppressing the Telangana culture and history by not installing the statue of late Narasimha Rao in Karimnagar district. He also flayed the Congress government for not allocating sites for the construction of memorial parks in Hyderabad and New Delhi.

He reminded that the Congress leaders of Karimnagar district have installed the statues of former MP J. Chokka Rao and former Speaker D. Sripada Rao, who are disciples of Narasimha Rao, but failed to install the statue of the former Prime Minister in the town. He demanded that the Congress leaders take measures for the installation of his bronze statue at the earliest. “If the Congress leaders fail, the TRS will install the statue,” he said. The MLC donated Rs. 5,000 for the school.
