Congress backs two MLC candidates

KADAPA: The Congress has extended its support to former Kadapa Bar Association president Ajay Kumar Veena, MLC candidate (graduates) and State Teachers Union president Pochamreddy Subba Reddy (teachers) for Rayalaseema West constituency. Expressing his support, Kadapa Mayor P. Ravindranath Reddy called upon party men to cast their first vote of preference to the two candidates backed by Congress State leadership. The second preferential vote should be cast in favour of a doctor Kattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy and the third to auditor P. Khasim Khan, he told a press conference on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kadapa DCC president A. Amarnath Reddy, former chairman of Andhra Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Shaik Hussain and former ZP Chairman K. Suresh Babu called upon party leaders, activists and sympathisers to cast their first preferential votes to Mr. Ajay Kumar Veena and Mr. P. Subba Reddy. Congress convenor of Kamalapuram Assembly constituency and MLC candidate for Rayalaseema West Local Authorities Constituency Putha Narasimha Reddy was already declared elected unanimously. The party had fielded Batyala Chengalrayudu for Rayalaseema West constituency in MLAs' quota.
