Collector pats doctors

VISAKHAPATNAM: Collector Sanjay Kumar appreciated doctors of the cardiology and gynaecology departments of King George Hospital here for leaving 35 per cent of their fee, totalling Rs. 6 lakhs from the Arogya Sri scheme, to be spent on the development of the hospital.

The Collector was told about the doctors’ gesture during a review of the health insurance scheme in the hospital on Wednesday. Superintendent M.J.V.R. Somayajulu said the hospital received Rs. 1.36 crores for treating Arogya Sri patients and spent Rs. 1 crore on equipment and other needs of various departments. HoDs P. Venkateswarlu, P. Muralikrishna, Subba Rao, Srinivasa Rao, P. Venugopal, David Raju, and others attended.
