VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indian Coast Guard beefed up the maritime security and search and rescue operations along the Andhra Pradesh coast by rebasing one of its inshore petrol vessels, ICGS Gangadevi, at Kakinada from April 1.
The increased vigil through ICGS Gangadevi should be a deterrent to the Sri Lankan fishing vessels off Andhra coast and give a major boost to the coastal security of AP, especially to East and West Godavari districts, said a Coast Guard release.
