Civic officials to interact with colony associations

HYDERABAD: GHMC Commissioner S.P. Singh has directed his officials to conduct regular meetings with the residential colony welfare associations so that better planning and allocation of funds can be done for various civic works being taken up.

At an interactive meeting with various associations on Wednesday, Mr. Singh said the deputy municipal commissioners of the respective circles should hold such meetings once in 45 days to be followed by the zonal commissioners every three months and once in six months at the commissioner’s level.

Officials were also asked to prepare a directory of the associations to communicate and keep them informed about the developmental activities being taken up in their respective areas so that there is better coordination. The IT and Finance Departments were told to update the website in regard to property tax to have a proper data base.

Representatives of the associations have assured the commissioner of their cooperation in collecting cent per cent property tax collection .
