Citizen ID cards’ distribution under way: DRO

MACHILIPATNAM: Krishna District Revenue Officer V.V. Subba Reddy on Tuesday said distribution of national citizen identity cards had begun in villages located in the coastal areas of the district.

Speaking at a meeting organised to impart training to enumerators at the Collector’s office, Mr. Subba Reddy said the project, approved by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, was being implemented on a pilot basis in coastal areas. In Krishna district, it was first being implemented in villages of Machilipatnam, Bantumilli, Kruttivenu, Nagayalanka and Koduru mandals.

Mr. Subba Reddy said teachers had been appointed as enumerators and the selected lot from Machilipatnam, Bantumilli and Kruttivenu were given training on Tuesday.
