Centre promises to supply vaccines

Union Minister for Health Gulam Nabi Azad promised Chief Minister K. Rosaiah over telephone today to supply the indented vaccines immediately from Centre. The State government has urged the Centre to supply one lakh more doses of vaccine. At present, 82,000 vaccines of Panenza have been received from Government of India and 79,000 have been distributed to all the teaching and District Hospitals in the State. Out of this,

Over 70,000 doses have been utilised to vaccinate the frontline health staff like doctors, paramedical staff and staff nurses attending to Swine Flu patients directly.

Reviewing the status of H1N1 with the Special Chief Secretary, Health, J. Satyanarayana and senior officials at his residence today, the Chief Minister said that all necessary steps were being taken to closely monitor the impact and contain the Swine Flu on a dily basis.
