Cell phone shop burgled

KADAPA: Unidentified persons destroyed furniture and decamped with cellular phones worth Rs. 65,000 from R.K. Cellular on Rajampet railway station road in the early hours of Saturday.

Burglars broke open three locks put on the shutters and another lock on a glass panel door and stole new cell phones worth Rs. 65,000, shop owner Vikas complained to the Rajampet Urban police. Furniture destroyed was worth Rs. 60,000, he said.

Rajampet Circle Inspector C.V. Ramana and Kadapa Finger Prints Sub Inspector Ramana Murthy inspected the shop and collected finger prints and other incriminating evidence. A gang whose members were aged between 18 and 20 years was committing burglaries and thefts, Rajampet Inspector said. Finger prints of five persons were collected from the scene.

The burglars also broke into Prasanthi fancy stores by opening the shutter locks but did not steal any goods, the CI said.
