Call to hoist Telangana flag

KHAMMAM: The Telangana political Joint Action Committee, Khammam unit convener, Dr. Kanakachary has appealed to the political parties, employees and students to hoist the Telangana flag along with the tri-colour at all the relay fast camps as part of the Republic Day celebrations.

Inaugurating the relay fast by the rural doctors near the Collectorate here to press the demands for statehood, he said that the Telangana flag would be hoisted at three centres – Mayuri centre, the post-graduate college centre and the JAC relay fast point at the district headquarters.

Some 39 rural doctors took part in the relay fast.

Addressing them, Pittala Nageswara Rao, leader of the registered medical practitioners, said that the protests would continue until the demand for separate Telangana was fulfilled. Private doctors, Kripakar and K. V. Krishna Rao expressed their support to the those took part in the relay fasts.

The Medaram-bound devotees were welcomed at the Kothagudem RTC bus station in a novel way by the Telangana activists.

Women member of the JAC and their supporters performed the Batakamma rituals in the premises. They all went in a rally up to the super market centre.

A large number of Singareni employees left for Medaram aong with their families from Kothagudem in the day. Special buses were operated from Kothagudem to Medaram on the occasion. The JAC leaders Akula Sudhakar, P. Gopal Reddy, Sunita Goud, venkat lakshmi, padma were among those who took part.
