Centre accused of not sanctioning enough funds for development of rail network in Telangana region

WARANGAL: TRS Member of Parliament B. Vinod Kumar has appealed to all political parties in the district to join hands and fight for the creation of Kazipet railway division, a long pending demand of people of the region.

The joint action committee headed by D. Vinay Bhaskar, who is also the TRS urban unit president, said on Monday that they would wage a relentless struggle till the Central government conceded for their demand. The new railway division is expected to bring a lot of development to the region besides providing employment opportunities to the youth of the region.

The TRS decided to organise various programmes to enlighten the masses and educated people of the region and secure their support for the demand.

At a seminar held here on the “Need for the creation of Kazipet junction and action plan to achieve the division,’ here, Mr. Bhaskar said the Centre was not sanctioning enough funds for the development of rail network and facilities in the Telangana region.

Kazipet needed more funds as it was an important junction in the Indian rail network that connected the north and south of India.

Speakers and participants at the seminar resolved to intensify agitation for the division and to submit memorandum to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
