CPI (ML) hits out at Maoists

Communist party of India ( Marxist-Leninist) has appealed to democrats, progressive forces and intellectuals to condemn the “terrorist politics of Maoists who time and again are resorting to the murder of leaders of people's movements”.

In a statement here on Wednesday, Viswam, general secretary CPI(ML) Central Committee, alleged that Kedruka Arjun, Chasi Muliya Adivasi Sangh's Koraput secretary was waylaid and shot dead by Maoists on Monday when he was going on a bicycle along with his wife between Kesubahdra and Kattulapeta villages in Orissa.

He said Arjun united adivasis and non-tribal poor in the Koraput-Bandugaon area under the banner of CMAS and stood in the forefront of many struggles.

He said that as the adivasi movement in Andhra-Orissa border was advancing under the leadership of CMAS, the leaders of Maoists tried to obstruct the activities and sent warning to CMAS leaders, including Arjun.
