Demand to book criminal cases against ‘corrupt’ officials of Indiramma scheme

SANGAREDDY: Demanding that pending bills of Indiramma houses should be paid and corruption stopped, the workers of CPI (M) on Tuesday held a dharna at the chambers of the district housing manager’s office in Sangareddy for two hours. They also wanted criminal cases registered against those responsible for corruption. They raised slogans against the officials.

The CPI (M) workers went to the office of the district housing manager and raised slogans. As the officer did not come from the office, they entered the chamber of the housing manager Vijaya Lakshmi and sat there. Beneficiaries from Sangareddy, Kothlapur, Mamidipally thanda, Eddumylaram and Tallapalli explained about the problems they were facing with the officials. They alleged that officials were demanding bribe to clear the bills.

Responding, Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi assured the agitators to pay the pending bills before July 10. According to CPI (M) leader K. Rajaiah, the Housing Manager also informed that notices were issued against 42 officials who are facing allegation charges and action would be initiated once reply was received.
