Bodybuilding contest for amateurs on Aug. 29

Ayur Sukha and KDBA are jointly hosting it at Haailand theme park

Ayur Sukha, a multi-speciality Ayurvedic treatment facility, and the Krishna District Bodybuilding Association (KDBA) are jointly organising a bodybuilding competition for amateurs on August 29 at Agri Gold Haailand theme park near here.

Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday, K.V.S. Sairam, joint managing director of Ayur Sukha, said competitions would be held in three categories based on body weight - 60kg, 70kg and above 70kg. Over 100 bodybuilders from Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and West Godavari districts would compete. “The total prize money at stake is Rs. 60,000. Competitions will be held in four rounds in each category. The participant would give seven compulsory poses, free pose, group pose and the like,” said KDBA secretary M. Venkateswara Rao.

Mr. Sairam said the event was being organised to create awareness among youngsters about fitness and good health. “We are associating with the KDBA for the first time and in the future we are keen on doing many more events in fitness,” he said. The entry fee would be Rs. 750 and the last date for receipt of entries is August 20. A rolling shield would be presented to “Mr. Ayur Sukha”.

Mr. Sairam said a mega mehendi competition by Devanaagari Spa of Agri Gold group will also be held on August 28 in three categories – bridal, creative and fast mehendi – in which around 500 women are expected to take part. The total prize money of Rs. 60,000 is at stake for the winners. Entry fee is Rs. 500 and the last date for entries is August 20.
