MAHABUBNAGAR: Water will be released from Bheema lift irrigation scheme taken up in the district by the end of December this year, Minister for Rural Development, G.Chinna Reddy announced here on Saturday amidst cheers from the audience.

Addressing the farmers convention of Wanaparthy Revenue Division at Madanapuram village, the Minister informed that 60 per cent of the works of other three lift irrigation schemes – Kalwakurthy, Nettempadu and Koilsagar lift irrigation schemes taken up in the district have been completed.

He informed that Government was also contemplating to extend free power for another two hours for the benefit of farmers.

Financial aid

The Minister also informed that the government was also providing financial assistance to nearly 22 lakh farmers who pay their loan instalments regularly.

For this purpose the Government has allocated Rs.1,100 crore in the budget, the Minister added.

Clear doubts

Scientist from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agriculture University (ANGRAU) and ADR palem village in the district who interacted with the farmers cleared their doubts in agriculture.

District Collector V.Usharani presided over the function.

Dean ANGRAU Sudharshan Reddy, Joint Director agriculture Nagappa, RDO Ramachandra Reddy and other officials were also participated.
