BSNL to expand broadband connectivity from June

Kakinada: The BSNL will be able to expand its broadband connectivity to more subscribers from June, with the expected arrival of the additional equipment by April, according to general manager R.M.M. Krishna. Interacting with telephone subscribers at the open house session on Friday, he said broadband had great demand with the existing capacity filled up and more were on the waitlist.

Claiming that BSNL cell connectivity also went up with the construction of more towers taking the total number to 80, the GM said that even the remotest agency areas such as Rampachodavaram and Maredumilli were now having the cell connectivity. The cell connectivity in urban areas had also increased and in Kakinada city alone three new towers were added this year taking the total to eight towers.

On the landlines, he said, the system was time-tested and despite the cell revolution the landline phones continues to be the most trusted in view of their disturbance free functioning. P.V.V.V. Prasada Rao deputy GM Operations said they were opening a call centre shortly to receive the complaints of the subscribers and ensure their effective redressal. Under the system, the subscriber can dial a particular code and book the complaints, which will be attended promptly and the action taken would be intimated to the complainant. B.
