BPO staffer among five killed in city road accidents

HYDERABAD: A call centre employee and four others were killed in separate road accidents in the city and its suburbs on Sunday.

A 28-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a postal van on Tank Bund. Khaja Mohiuddin Baig, a call centre employee and resident of Santoshnagar, was returning home when the van rammed into him in front of Lepakshi Emporium resulting in serious injuries.


Passers-by shifted him to a corporate hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. A case of negligence under Section 304 (A) of IPC was registered against the van driver Ohm Prakash.

In another incident, a marketing executive died after the motorcycle he was riding was run over by an RTC bus at Uppal.

The victim, S. Santosh Kumar (28), was a resident of Ramanthapur.

In yet another incident, a 40-year-old man was killed after he skidded from the scooter he was riding at Neredmet. Shankar Reddy, a native of Cheryala village in Ranga Reddy district, was returning home after attending a function at his relative’s house in Secunderabad.

A pedestrian who suffered injuries after an unidentified vehicle hit him at Nampally station on November 27, died while undergoing treatment at the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) on Sunday.

The deceased person has been identified as Siraj (45), a government employee and resident of Nallagutta, the police said.

Twenty-six-year-old Vidyasagar succumbed to injuries at the OGH on Sunday.
