It is aimed at obstructing formation of separate State: Vidyasagar Rao

KARIMNAGAR: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ch. Vidyasagar Rao has alleged that the ‘grand alliance’ comprising the TDP, TRS and the Left parties is only aimed at obstructing the formation of separate Telangana.

Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he alleged that the grand alliance was more ‘dangerous’ than Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. “Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy was clear on Telangana statehood issue and he never promised separate State and left the matter to the party high command. But, the formation of grand alliance is a clear indication that the people of the region will be betrayed again,” he claimed.

He said there was no clarity on the formation of Telangana State by the grand alliance.

He wanted to know how TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who opposed even uttering of Telangana word in the Assembly, would achieve Telangana State. He also questioned the sanctity of CPI (M) on the formation of Telangana, which opposed the separate State tooth and nail.

Hyderabad Correspondent adds: State BJP president B. Dattatreya on Sunday hit out at the Telugu Desam-TRS-Left grand alliance, saying it was not an alternative to the Congress, but an opportunistic grouping.

At a press conference, he ridiculed the TDP and TRS leaders’ claim that the alliance would win 200 Assembly seats.
