B. Sc (Maths) graduates can study B. Tech

HYDERABAD: Decks have been cleared for entry of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) graduates into B.Tech course in the State from the coming academic year. The G.O. will be issued in a day or two.

Asutosh Mishra, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, said that B.Sc (Maths) graduates would be allowed to study B.Tech under the lateral entry system as was being done for the Polytechnic diploma holders.

Test modalities

He said one third of the lateral entry seats in all engineering colleges would be reserved for B.Sc graduates while the remaining would be filled with candidates clearing ECET. Modalities for an entrance test on the lines of ECET for the B.Sc candidates were being worked out.
