Avanti decennial fete held

VISAKHAPATNAM: Decennial celebrations of Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology in Makavarapalem in the district were conducted with pomp and fanfare on Monday.

Minister for Major Industries Kanna Lakshminarayana inaugurated the Decennial Block recently built in commemoration of the college decennial celebrations with a cost of Rs.4 crores with Air Conditioned class rooms. Newly established Computers Lab, EDC Lab and Seminar hall have been inaugurated by the other dignitaries.

A grand meeting was conducted on the occasion and Mr. Lakshmi Narayana asked the students to get ready to face the challenges of the advanced technology. He advised them not to waste their time. He asked the students to make use of fee reimbursement scheme.

Minister for Tribal Welfare P. Balaraju lauded the Institution for its placement in remote area and wished it to develop into a Deemed University. He praised the Chairman of Avanthi Group of Institutions M. Srinivasa Rao, Bheemunipatnam MLA, for establishing Engineering colleges in rural areas and helping the students of rural background to realise their dreams to become engineers.

V-C of JNT University – Kakinada, Allam Apparao, in his keynote address explained the University’s efforts to be student-oriented, and to be different from other Universities. He also detailed the importance of credit system and said that the students would be able to carry forward the grades from this University to any other varsity in the world. Pendurthi MLA P. Ramesh Babu, Gajuwaka MLA Ch. Venkata Ramayya, Narsipatnam MLA Mutyala Papa, MLC D. Suryanarayana Raju, and others spoke. Mr. Srinivasa Rao welcomed the guests and felicitated all the distinguished guests.
