Army recruitment drive in Nizamabad

NIZAMABAD: The Director, Army Branch Recruiting Office, Secunderabad, Col. K.P. Jayraj has said the Army in coordination with the district administration is taking all measures to ensure smooth conduct of the week-long selection process to induct young men into the Indian Army, here from January 4 to 10.

Recruitment will be conducted for selection of the candidates in five categories,such as Soldier (general duty), Soldier (technical), Clerk, Soldier (tradesman) and Soldier (nursing assistant). Every day 3,000 aspirants from all Telangana districts (except Khammam) and Kurnool are expected to attend, Mr. Jayraj said addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.

Candidates who passed 10th class are eligible to take the test which includes written and physical examination. Certificate verification and documentation would be conducted on the CSI Degree College ground, while physical tests will be held in Government Polytechnic College for Boys, said.

Mr. Jayraj assured that the recruitment would be transparent, free and fair. He emphasised that there was no need for any canvassing or recommendations. He urged the candidates not to approach anyone as the selection would strictly be carried out according to the criteria setCol. Jayraj said the candidates must appear for the screening process between 5.30 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. and late comers would have to wait for the next day. The Director thanked the Collector B. Ramanjaneyulu and the Superintendent of Police N. Suryanarayana for their cooperation in organising the massive recruitment process.

District Youth Welfare Officer D. Sailoo said candidates for the recruitment would be provided free accommodation.
