He was to appear before court for trial

NALGONDA: Janapaati Mallaiah, 38, an accused in a murder case, was brutally killed by his alleged opponents at Prakash Nagar in Miryalaguda town on Tuesday.

According to the town sub-inspector M. Gangadhar, some miscreants waylaid Mallaiah near his rented house and attacked him with axes and other sharp objects killing him on the spot. A native of Bairanipadu of Guntur district, Mallaiah migrated to Miryalaguda recently after figuring in the murder of his relative Kondal 10 months ago. “He was the accused No. 3 in the murder. He was to appear before the ninth fast-track court at Guntur in this murder trial today,” the SI said. The police suspect the role of Kondal’s family members in the killing.
