A ‘site' to find your missing valuables

GUNTUR: Losing valuable items while one shift from a city to the other or while one is in travel is common, but the exercise of finding it is too arduous. Making a complaint at the local police station and obtaining a First Information Report is a must, which none can escape.

But when you lose such valuables or find them accidentally somewhere even at your Raddiwala's godown close to your house, you can either get helped or help some other hapless persons in recovering their property. With exponential growth of internet connection and its penetration even in to rural India, the Friends To Support Organisation, a Narsaraopet-based voluntary organisation which is running the blood donors' registry has come up with a solution.

A website, which could act as a platform for the person losing his/her valuables and the one who finds it and also has a kind heart to return to the original owner, was created recently, which is turning useful for many who were in dire need of those documents and valuable passports.

The designer of the website, Shaik Shareef told The Hindu about the initiative. ‘' was formed by a group of professionals, who have been serving the needy for past four years through “This is an online platform for those in search of their precious articles, books, medals etc and for those who find them with serving as bridge across the globe.

To achieve the objective, the FMM team updates the database with the details submitted by users. FMM maintains a database with the details about valuable items found by someone around the globe and also information about lost property submitted by the owners.

The users can post the data of missing item along with the image (if available). In the similar manner one who finds something which might be precious to others can submit the data along with pictures. To avail this facility one should register with valid email ID.

The registration and service is absolutely free.

“We don't permit any user to access, display and view the database details unless it's his account as our database is confidential,” he said. The FMM team informs users by providing appropriate details if any query was matching with the request.
