90 beneficiaries get training in self-employment


Kakinada: Training to 90 beneficiaries in various trades under the self-employment scheme, sponsored by the Lions Club International, concluded here on Thursday.

Presiding over the valedictory function Badam Balakrishna, Lions district governor, said Rs.1.02 lakhs was spent on the training alone enlisting the support of Jan Shikshan Sansthan. Besides certificates, tool kits were also distributed to the trainees depending upon their capabilities. He said that 12 persons, who had successfully completed training in car driving, were provided free license and certificates.

Fifteen women were given training in sari rolling and darning, 12 in DTP, 15 in bookbinding and another 36 in dress making and petty coat manufacturing.
