108 service helps in flood relief work

Members have helped victims round the clock, says GVK-EMRI district manager

MAHABUBNAGAR: Members of GVK-EMRI, 108 services have rendered ‘yeoman’ services to the flood victims in Mahabubnagar district. They helped the victims round the clock since day one of the floods on October 2.

District manager, GVK-EMRI, M. Raghurama Verma, speaking to the press persons here on Tuesday said that they have organised medical camps in 22 badly affected villages with cooperation of district medical and health officer.

Besides rescue operations they also supported the government in taking up relief and rehabilitation works including distribution of food and clothes to the flood victims at several rehabilitation camps organised by the district administration.

Mr. Verma also informed that 32 members with four ambulances exclusively worked in rescue and relief operations in the flood affected areas in the district.
