Rajinikanth urged not to act in film on Tipu Sultan

Bharathiya Janatha Party national secretary H. Raja appealed to actor Rajinikanth not to act in the proposed movie on Tipu Sultan.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said Rajinikanth was a patriotic and spiritual person. “Tipu Sultan was a murderer, who killed thousands of Hindu men, women and children,” Mr. Raja alleged.

He also condemned the construction of a memorial for Tipu Sultan in Dindigul.

The AIADMK government betrayed its founder MGR by granting permission to construct the Tipu memorial. He was against Tipu Sultan as his ancestors were affected by the Muslim rulers and migrated from their native place. If the government failed to withdraw its proposal, the BJP will use it in the Assembly election campaign, he added.

The BJP Secretary also said, the Dindigul SP should allow devotees to beat percussion instruments during the idol procession in Dindigul.

Both the AIADMK and the DMK were not of much use to Tamil language, Tamil people and Tamil Nadu. They did nothing to Tamils.
