Panel on economic reforms holds first meeting

NEW DELHI, DEC. 27. The first meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Reforms tonight discussed ways and means to give push to economic reforms in the wake of new economic challenges and global slowdown.

The meeting, presided over by the Prime Ministe, Mr. A. B. Vajpayee, also deliberated on accelerating financial sector reforms.

The meeting was attended among others by the Home Minister, Mr. L.K Advani, Disinvestment Minister, Mr.Arun Shourie, Agriculture Minister, Mr. Ajit Singh, Finance Minister Mr. Yashwant Sinha and Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, Mr. K.C.Pant. Minister of State for Small Scale Industries, Ms. Vasundhara Raje, was a special invitee to the meeting. _ PTI
