Pakistan peace activist on a mission

An 81-year-old peace activist from Pakistan B. M. Kutty on Wednesday called on BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy as part of his tour in the country to promote peace between the two nations.

Born in Kochi

Mr. Kutty, who was born in Kochi, Kerala, migrated 60 years ago to Karachi, where he has been working for people-to-people relationship across borders under the banner of Pakistan Peace Coalition.

He left for Kochi after talking to Mr. Kishan Reddy and other leaders at the BJP office.

In a brief chat with media persons, Mr. Kutty recalled his detention in Pakistan under martial law during the Presidentship of Ayub Khan.

He said he had secured five lakh signatures for peace in India and Pakistan and submitted them to both governments. He is touring several cities in India along with an associate Sharafath Ali.
