'Our products meet stringent quality standards'

MUMBAI, MARCH 17. Johnson & Johnson confirmed that it had received a notice from the Maharashtra FDA. In a press release, it said that it was studying the notice and would respond. In the meantime, it wanted to reassure its consumers "that all its baby care products in India, including Johnson's Baby Oil, meet stringent global quality standards of Johnson & Johnson worldwide."

The company said that it sbaby oil used "a pure grade of mineral oil" that had been clinically proven to be mild, gentle and safe for use on a baby's sensitive skin."

More than 200 safety tests and extensive product trials had been conducted in India, and many more across the world on babies and adults to ensure that Johnson & Johnson baby product formulations were mild, gentle and safe for use on a baby's sensitive skin, the company said.
