New Delhi welcomes release of Indians

NEW DELHI DEC. 24. India today welcomed the "safe release" of two Indian nationals, who were abducted by the resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan on December 6. The two Indians were working on a road construction project in the Zabul province.

"Their release is a reflection of the fact that all sections of the Afghan people recognise the contribution India is making towards the reconstruction effort in Afghanistan," an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said.
