Medals for Indian students at Physics Olympiad

MUMBAI: JULY 13. Indian boys have won two gold, two silver and one bronze medals at the 36th International Physics Olympiad held at Salamanca in Spain.

In terms of aggregate score, the five-member team ranked sixth in the event which concluded in Spain on Tuesday, Prof. Vijay A. Singh, National co-ordinator, Science Olympiads, said here on Wednesday.

Piyush Srivastava from Allahabad and Sameer Madan from Panchkula (Punjab) won gold medals, Tejaswi Venumadhav Nerella and Hemachandra Prakash Movva from Hyderabad won silver medals while Arjun Radhkrishna from Bangalore won a bronze medal, Prof. Singh said.

A total of 77 countries with 342 contestants participated in the IPO. — PTI
