September 19, 2013 12:00 am | Updated June 02, 2016 01:19 pm IST - GURGAON:

Major road projects across Haryana, including a six-lane flyover along National Highway-8 at Hero Honda Chowk on Delhi-Jaipur road, have been approved by the Centre. The decision was taken at a meeting between Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Oscar Fernandes in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Soon after the meeting, Mr. Hooda said the flyover at Hero Honda Chowk will be constructed at a cost of about Rs.100 crore and the work will be completed within 15 months. Till the construction of the flyover, a traffic light system will be installed as a short-term measure for the convenience of people on both sides of the National Highway. Besides this, a drainage system will also be constructed to deal with the perennial problem of water-logging at the junction and the service roads.
