Journalist dead

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: M. Harish Govind, City Editor of The Hindu passed away here on Saturday morning. He was 47.

Taken to hospital on complaining of breathlessness, he died around 10.30 a.m. following a massive heart attack.

Harish started his career as a journalist with a weekly in Kochi in 1984. Later he was with the Vijayawada edition of Indian Express. He joined the editorial desk of The Hindu in Chennai in 1990. He came to Thiruvananthapuram in 1994 and has led the Thiruvananthapuram city bureau since 1995.

Harish is survived by his wife, son and daughter.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Revenue Minister K.M. Mani, and Union Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahamed condoled the death.
