BJP directive to party leaders

NEW DELHI OCT. 10. The Bharatiya Janata Party has asked all its Central Ministers, Chief Ministers and party office-bearers to devote at least 10 days to campaigning in the five States going to polls later this year.

Besides, 200 party workers from each State not going to polls would be given work in the States where elections were being held, the party spokesperson, Prakash Javadekar, said here today.

With election preparedness in full swing, the party has established a central control room and an Election Coordination Cell here, while election committees have been set up in the States going to polls. The States have been asked to be ready by October-end with their list of candidates for final consideration by the Central Election Committee which is expected to meet in early November.

While the party president, Venkaiah Naidu, has been touring the States going to the polls those given direct charge of specific States are devoting their energies to fine-tuning the party strategy in that State.

The party general secretary, Pramod Mahajan, is overall in-charge of elections in all the five States.
