The methodology

NEW DELHI: The methodology for the poll conducted across 13 cities including the four metros involved direct questionnaires administered randomly at street corners, responses received through the channel’s website and mobile phone text messages (SMS).

The poll was publicised on the television channel’s programming and on its website.

The total sample size for the direct poll was 2,650 and the results indicate only definite answers. It excludes respondents who gave “don’t know” for an answer.

The number of respondents for the SMS poll ranged between 169 for the question on “India’s greatest film” to 15 for “One event that changed India.” A total of 10,217 responses were received in the web poll for the question on “India’s greatest political blot” and 3,245 for the one on “India’s greatest song.”

The poll was conducted for NDTV by GFK-MODE, a market research company.
