NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation conducted searches at the offices and printing press of Manas Publications in Darya Ganj here on Saturday in connection with the publication of a book by Major-General (Retd.) V.K. Singh, a former senior officer in the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

A team of CBI’s Special Crime Unit reached the publication house in the morning and carried out extensive searches looking for the material used in the publication of the book, India’s External Intelligence: Secrets of RAW, which talks about alleged corruption and political interference in the working of the agency.

The CBI personnel have reportedly questioned the owner of the publication house, Vivek Garg, and also seized a printed version of the book, its soft copy on a compact disc, and the agreement between the author and the publisher.

On Friday, the CBI had mounted a raid at the residence of Major-General Singh at Palam Vihar here. His computer, diaries and passport were seized. He was also questioned.

The CBI has registered a case against him under the Official Secrets Act.
