47 escape from jail

INDORE MAY 29. In a sensational jailbreak, 47 prisoners cut iron rods and escaped from the Jobat jail, 55 km. from Jhabua, in the wee hours of today, police said.

The incident took place when the watch and ward staff were allegedly sleeping, they said.

According to the police, the prisoners scaled the outer wall with the help of a long wooden pole.

The jail authorities came to know of the incident only in the morning and sounded an alarm.

All borders of the district have been sealed.. — PTI
