10 of family massacred

PATNA, JULY 24. In a gruesome incident, 10 members of a minority family, including three children and a woman, were massacred in Bishunpur village under Nautan police station in Siwan district of Bihar in the early hours of today.

Police said all the victims were killed in their sleep around 1 a.m. by slitting their throats. The reason for killing the poor people, who lived on the roadside and survived on alms and menial jobs, could not be ascertained yet. The identity of the killers was also not known.

Police had sealed the border with Uttar Pradesh. They also suspect that the killers might have escaped to the neighbouring State.
