10 Al-Qaeda men killed in Pak. raids

ISLAMABAD OCT. 26. Pakistan says it has killed 10 Al-Qaeda suspects and arrested over 230 in the tribal area of the North-West Frontier Province bordering Afghanistan.

The Pakistan Army's special operations — codenamed "Al Mezan" — in the area have been the focus of attention within and outside the country in the last few weeks. While the Opposition has accused the Government of acting as a "stooge" of the United States, the Karzai dispensation in Kabul has been asking Islamabad to do more to ensure that the Al-Qaeda did not get shelter in the tribal belt.

On Saturday, Pakistan took the Ambassadors of 15 European and Asian countries (India was not invited) to the Afghan border where the search for the Al-Qaeda and Taliban fugitives were being carried out.
