Vajpayee consults all allies: Chandrababu Naidu

AHMEDNAGAR, APRIL 29. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, today defended the Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, by refuting the Shiv Sena chief, Mr. Bal Thackeray's allegation that the NDA Government was not working in consultation with alliance partners. ``Mr. Vajpayee has been working in coordination with the alliance members and so far taken all decisions after taking them into confidence,'' Mr. Naidu told reporters after a visit to the Saibaba shrine at Shirdi, near here.

The Sena mouth piece, Saamna, on Saturday had published excerpts of Mr. Thackeray's statement during the Star TV talk programme, wherein he charged the Vajpayee Government with taking decisions without taking allies into confidence. ``We are not given required information during meetings of the Union Cabinet, such incidents are frequent and I will not tolerate them any more,'' Mr. Thackeray said.

On the outcome of Assembly elections in five States, Mr. Naidu said the result would not affect the NDA Government. He said at this stage he would like to concentrate only on Andhra Pradesh and not concern himself with national politics.
