Scholarship fund for Urdu students

HASSAN, JAN. 20. The Chairman of the Karnataka Urdu Academy, M.A. Wahad Andlib, on Sunday said that the academy had set up a scholarship fund of Rs. 3.78 lakh to help students who studied Urdu from SSLC to Ph.D level.

Presiding over a function to inaugurate a State-level seminar on ''Services of South Indian women to Urdu'' and a poets' meet organised here on Sunday by the academy, Mr. Andlib said the academy had plans to hold a similar meet of women fiction writers in Urdu in Bangalore in February. The academy would also hold a meet of male fiction writers in Urdu in Mysore or Bangalore by March endThe academy would hold a Ghazal programme in Bijapur and a seminar on education in Belgaum.
