Power shutdown in Udupi district

MANGALORE, AUG. 21. Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd. (MESCOM) has announced a power shutdown in parts of Udupi district on Tuesday and Friday owing to urgent maintenance work at the Manipal, Nittoor, Karkala, and Hebri power sub-stations. A press release from MESCOM said power supply would be affected between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday in areas receiving power from the 11-kV power line of the Shirva (Pamburu) station such as Bantkal, Kaup, Katpady, Shankarpura, Mudrangadi, Shirva, and adjoining areas. Power supply would also be disrupted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday in areas receiving power from the Hebri and Karkala sub-station, including Hebri, Mudradi, Belinje, Kalthuru, Bailuru, Ajekaru, Nakre, Nitte and adjoining areas. There would be disruption in power supply in Kodavuru, Putturu, Kalyanpura, Malpe, Ambalpady, and adjoining areas between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, the release added.
