PMK suspends five party functionaries

SALEM, JULY 12. The Salem district PMK has suspended five party functionaries, including the joint secretary, for alleged anti- party activities. A resolution to this effect was passed in the emergency meeting of the party district executive committee headed by Mr. V. P. Arumugham here on Tuesday.

It may be noted that the joint secretary of the Salem unit of the party, Mr. Parthibhan, alongwith the student wing leader, Mr. M. Selvageethan, and zonal secretaries, Mr. P. Manickam, Mr. A. K. Natarajan and Mr. C. M. Annadurai, had said that the secretary of the unit, Mr. M. Karthik, had shifted them from their positions, without consulting the party high command.

The resolution disputed their claim and stated that Mr. Karthik had shuffled certain office-bearers in the interest of the party and that to with the concurrence of the executive committee.
